Moleskine Project Planner

moleskinplan.jpg

This is certainly a far more elegant way to plan projects than the taping together sheets of A3 method I currently use. Perfect for both short and long term projects, the Moleskine Project Planner features one giant sheet of heavyweight paper folded in to 54 zig-zag accordion pages. This allows you to pull out the folds so you can view whole project linearly. Very nice.

Brionvega ts522

brionvega.jpeg

Once upon a time there was a grey and square world, all in black and white, and then the revolution of forms, the invention of colour arrived. Brionvega.

It is an important heritage that requires on the one hand respect for the past, and on the other a vision propelled towards the future, as required by a world which is more and more technological.

Since the sixties, Brionvega is synonymous with stylistic innovation, technology, and aesthetic sense.

Brionvega recently reissued Marco Zanuso and Richard Sapper's ts502 radio as the ts522 with up-to-date technology and a return to its original interface panel. This is a simple, beautiful piece of design. I don't listen to local radio anymore but with a device a beautiful as this it wouldn't matter.

Jonas Damon 2B Ltd. Edition Vacuum Tube Radio

tuberadio.jpg

Though a subject of some debate many people still prefer the sound that is produced by the distortion characteristics of tube-based amplifiers. Tube amplifiers, and in this case the amplifier in a radio, are often characterized as sounding warmer or fatter. I tend to agree but I think for most people it's simply fun to own a piece of nostalgia. The Jonas Damon 2B marries the old with new through attractive design and the ability to hook up your more modern iPod through an input jack in the back. You can even watch the tubes at work (and warm your hands at the same time).

Mobile phone as flower or plant? I guess if you are going to have a mess of wires on your floor it makes some sense to make it as attractive as possible. AC Adapter MIDORI was designed by Akira Takashi Miyama.

Wired reviews some gear for working remotely. The bag included in the review was the super tough and super sized Chrome Warsaw. The Pico Telescoping Chair seems goofy to me. Via BBG

Reusable tote bags as pillows

bag-totes.jpg
Here's a tip from Notcot on what to do with all those reusable tote bags you might be collecting.

The reusable bag trend is a bit out of control. They are pretty much the new t-shirt as far as things to put your graphics on. In concept, i love it ~ less plastic bags, less waste, but then a new problem has cropped up, i think i have an unhealthy amount of reusable bags and tote bags that i love too much to part with, but there is no way i can use that many at one time, even with piles in every house, car, bag, etc… What i HAVE needed lately are throw pillows though (i’m working on figuring out what to do with my empty room, so far stuck an ikea couch/bed and a big desk to play with in there)! And whether you want to call it a new way to reuse cotton tote bags, or recession chic, or multipurpose bag/pillow covers… once the random idea popped up i had to try it!

I guess it would help to have bags that you would actually want seen - the ones we have stuffed in a drawer all look like crap.
