Massage at the Banyan Tree in Bangkok

Whether you are away on business or pleasure it is always great to be able to spend some time exploring the city you find yourself in. If you are stuck in your room preparing for a meeting or using the hotel facilities get out and use a café instead. You may or may not be quite as productive but it will inspire you and give you additional things to talk about with your new local friends. One of the definite things to do when in Bangkok (to the point of cliché) is to indulge in a massage. For the non-budget conscious traveller, the Banyan Tree Spa is an experience not to be missed.

I’ve made an effort to try and visit every possible (reputable) spa in Bangkok; the Banyan Tree is at the top of my list if for no other reason than the view. They are on the 21st floor of the building and if you book ahead you may be able to have your massage in one the rooms with views of the city. You can choose from an array of massage, body and beauty treatments, like loofah rubs, herbal wraps and aromatic massages that blend the best of East and West. Their treatment facilities include steam baths, saunas and jet pool spa pools.

Afterwards you can enjoy dinner on the 61st floor at the Vertigo open air restaurant - not for those who are afraid of heights.

There are many other cheaper and better options for massage in the immediate vacinity but that view keeps me coming back.
