Sony Electronics has recently introduced the VAIO® UX Micro PC, placing full-size computer performance in a pocket-sized package with an Intel Centrino 1.06GHz processor running Windows XP. The device weighs just over a pound, features a 4.5-inch wide SVGA screen that slides up to expose an integrated keyboard, comes with a docking station, two built-in cameras (one for video conferencing and another or taking photos), Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. The pocket-sized PC allows you to toggle between wireless WWAN, LAN and Bluetooth® (and Cingular’s nationwide EDGE network if you are in the US) making it a great device for travel. Sony has always been great at putting as many features imaginable in a very small package. If you have no need for a full sized notebook and you want to stay connected while you are on the road this looks like a great device. Available in July for $1,800US. Product page.
