Tengu - A companion for cubicle shut-ins

tengu.jpg

Tengu, is an interactive device, powered by your USB port, that displays facial expressions depending on environmental sound. The display is an array of LEDS so the expressions are more like emoticons but that's part of the appeal. There are seven different faces which appear depending on the sound it 'hears'. Likely this is random but it would be great if it could be programmed to be an ambient interface to the effects of sound on your mood. Loud equals angry or stressed for some while calm music produces another face for others. The Tengu is designed by UK artist Crispin Jones. I want one.

More information here and a video here. It's available for purchase if you can navigate the Japanese.
