Phranakorn Nornlen Hotel

I'm in love with this boutigue hotel/guesthouse and I haven't stayed there yet. I love it's quirky thrift-store aesthetic, the shady garden and courtyard, and their guiding principle of a stress free stay. Unlike so many places in Bangkok, here is somewhere I would feel comfortable taking my family.

Lovely people, quirky decor, delicious breakfast, peaceful courtyard, non-touristy neighborhood, fantastic paintings....

If you are a smoking, sex-worker seeking, traveller than this is definitely not the place for you. You may need to get your media fix eleswhere as well -- no TVs and no wifi. They do provide MuJi CD players.

An onsite organic farm provides the food for your breakfast.

The hotel supports the community by limiting services. There's no laundry, for example: you're directed to shops nearby.

The guesthouse website is full of gems like: "some of the taxi drivers still have no idea where we are as they don't know how to read map!" Seldom do you get an honest statement like that on marketing copy.
