Co-working from a tropical island in Panama

CocoViva coworking

Whether you are a location-independent knowledge worker, a digital nomad or a webworker, whatever label you choose, if you are looking for an extreme change in scenery, Coco Vivo should be on your list of potential places to experience.

Located in a rustic tropical island retreat in Bocas del Toro, a province of Panama, it's not your typical co-working location. It's co-working with attached accommodation on a remote island in the rainforest, and you have to appreciate that in order to like it there.

CocoVivo is off-the-grid and gets electricity from solar panels and backup generators in case there is not enough sunshine. Running water is provided by three 400 gallon tanks filled with captured rainwater. Under normal circumstances, your stay will be very comfortable; but any of these systems can break down any time, which requires an open mind and some flexibility. CocoVivo has a reliable internet connection, via long distance wifi, so you could find yourself laying in a hammock answering email and updating your twitter status.

CocoVivo - spontaneous tour

As one might expect in a paradise such as this, when you are finished with work, there are loads of activities. You can enjoy jungle hikes, snorkeling, calm-water kayaking, fishing, diving for conch, waterskiing, wake boarding or simply watch the sun set from office on the water.
