New Dell 20" LCD

Apple seems to be the lone hold out in the increasing affordability of large LCD monitors. It seems out of place for the new Apple, a company which now competes on price very favourably on a wide range of it's products. Dell has a reputation for producing affordable high quality LCD's which with the traditional exception of ugly form compete very well with their much higher priced cousions from Apple. They have just released the E207WFP, which has a 20-inch screen with a solid 5ms response time, for the modest price of $289.00US. If it's important it doesn't look as bad as you might believe. In fact I think it might look every bit as good as the expensive Eizo I have on my desk at the moment. Buying an LCD for a laptop allows you the best of both worlds, portability for the road, and the productivity enhancements of a large viewable desktop while at home. With prices like this there are fewer excuses for not having one. Now if only Apple would catch up so we could enjoy their beautiful industrial design.
