I like her perhaps for obvious reasons, she is cute and sings well, but following her career promoted heavily via Youtube, always raises questions in my mind on the effect of mobile devices on music and creativity. Does removing the barrier to entry in creating music somehow reduce the art that is produced overall? It took me years upon years of study and effort to make sound that can to a degree be bought for the price of a coffee at Starbucks. Is there no effect from the effort required to master a device, to deal creatively with your limitations in order to create art. Cheap music made cheaply is yet another commodity.
