Me Books have partnered with Penguin Books to bring some of their best-loved picture books to the iPad and iPhone. By allowing readers to record their own narration, sound and characters voices, Me Books provides an exciting new way for children and their families to experience the wonder and magic of stories.
I've read a number of criticisms of this app. and a few others like it derailing it as not being innovative and not making use of the platforms potential. I tend to disagree. One just has to sit and watch a child interact with apps. like this to see how much joy they bring. Isn't that the point?
Engagement begins and ends in the mind, and does not require utilizing all the physical possibilities inherent in a multi-touch display.
