Jacket Bag

An interesting concept from local design student "Calvin" on display at the Institute of Applied Art at Chiao Tung University graduation exhibition. I was a grad student there not so long ago. The design is impractical but I like the idea of bag and jacket as one object. Calvin emphasized speed and the setting of new trends in fashion in his write up.

These type of prototypes present an additional financial burden on many design students here -- even in Taiwan it's not cheap to have a small factory produce a one off prototype. Many professors or judges seem to have a hard time critiquing a concept without seeing an actual physical product. It's considered an important part of the process but I wonder what would result if the time and resources required to produce a prototype were actually applied to the creating concept itself.
